AFLOS was developed based on FAI/ General Aviation Commission - requirements. The system is certified by the General Aviation Commission for the use in international Rally and Precision competitions.

AFLOS may also be used to document record attempts, in training and to document routine flights.

AFLOS Hard-, Softwareupdate Often GPS signal availability is bad because of a lot of reasons.      For example the GPS signal strength is reduced by the weather and ionization conditions or electrical noise and mechanical vibration caused by the aircraft prevent the GPS signal reception.

So the AFLOS of the last generation get

- better sensitivity (+20 dB) minimum              GPS signal is also read by less signal strength conditions       => better reception

- special filtered antenna and GPS module increased immunity to electrical noise                                    => better decoding

- up to 50 satellites parallel                            more satellites in view                                                          => increased security by flight maneuvers

- up to four fixes each second                         more position points                                                             => better flight reconstruction

- less power consumption                                 longer working time                                                             => up to 25 hours
